Brush layer= bundles are an effective way to stop disasters like natural erosion. A control solution made from live, hand-cut woody cuttings and placed in bulk bundles to layer and stabilize slopes, streambanks, and disturbed soil.
At TN Nursery, we offer these in bundles of 25, each containing a carefully selected mixture of native plant species that root easily, strengthen the soil, and establish long-term vegetation for restoration projects on streambanks, lakes, or rivers.
How are Bursh Layers Utilized in Streambank Restoration?
Brush Layers have been 100% effective for decades in controlling erosion, stabilizing slopes, and restoring streambanks. Made from cut live woody cuttings, these layers must be installed horizontally in shallow trenches where they quickly root, slow water movement, and bind soil in place as they grow. Over time, they establish dense vegetation that naturally reinforces the landscape and improves long-term site stability in areas prone to mudslides, rockslides, and soil erosion.

At TN Nursery, ours are sold in ready-to-use bundles of 25, each containing a carefully selected mixture of native plant species, such as black willows, red maples, river birch, dogwoods, and elderberries, or closely related species suitable for your zone and need. We cannot guarantee a specific species, but we can provide a mixture of them.
