Green Velvet Boxwood 6-8" is a hybrid cross of B. sempervirens × B. microphylla, which are both native to Europe and Asia. However, this particular hybrid was developed in the 1960s by Sheridan Nurseries in Canada.
This successful hybrid was cultivated to cross the cold hardiness of B. microphylla with the lush green foliage of B. sempervirens. This shrub is both winter-tolerant with rich, bright green foliage. While slow growing, gaining a few inches in height per year, it is robust and vigorous, adding dense foliar appeal to your garden.
