The Ox-Eye Daisy - Leucanthemum vulgare
The Ox-eye Daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare) is a charming, and robust flower that blooms for up to 4 weeks starting from late spring. These tall flower stalks sprout from a dark green rosette of leaves. The flowers reach up to 3 in in diameter, making it impossible to overlook these beauties in the garden. Even when the flowers have died back for the year, this plant remains an attractive green herbaceous component of the gardening with it’s remaining gently serrated and lobed leaves.
The flowers are spritely and tall, reaching up to 3 ft in height. Given their robust stem and long-lasting flowers, they make aptly suitable cut flowers to add to a beautiful bouquet. Fine hairs cover the length of these leggy flowers making them not only beautiful to look at but also soft and velvety to the touch.

Landscape Uses and Maintenance - Ox-Eye Daisy
This plant is low maintenance, disease free, rabbit and deer-resistant. They grow the best in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. However, they can tolerate dry soils during the summer months as long as they are provided with some afternoon shade.
While it is a beautiful flower, it can be a bit weedy, and is best planted in an uncontained area where the plant can roam. It spreads via rhizome growth under the soil surface.
